THIS TRIAL IS NO LONGER RECRUITING PATIENTS.

The following requirements are mandatory for patients interested in participating in Therion's PANVAC-VF Phase III study:

1. Patients > 18 years of age who have been vaccinated against smallpox;

2. Histologically confirmed diagnosis of adenocarcinoma of the pancreas;

3. Patient has metastatic (Stage IV) disease;

4. ECOG performance status of 0-1;

5. Failed a gemcitabine-containing chemotherapeutic regimen within 3 months of study entry.

Patients with any of the below conditions are not eligible to participate in Therion's PANVAC-VF Phase III study:

1. Concurrent or prior immunotherapy for cancer;

2. Radiation therapy within 28 days prior to registration;

3. Systemic corticosteroid therapy (except inhaled or topical steroids) within 28 days of registration;

4. Significant cardiovascular abnormalities or diseases;

5. Known positive for HIV, hepatitis B and/or C;

6. Evidence of immunodeficiency or immune suppression.
